Susan Lee Crowden's Obituary
KLOO, SUSAN LEE CROWDEN, of Miami, died April 4, 2011 of complications from cancer treatment. Susie was a bright, beautiful, creative person who brought a special light into the lives of those who knew her. Born December 7, 1956, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Susie grew up in Coral Gables. She graduated from Coral Gables Senior High School in 1974. While at Gables, she developed a love of print media through work on the yearbook staff, and had a career in graphic design after attending college at DePauw University in Indiana and George Mason University in Virginia. Susie had a gift for color and design, and always had a creative project under way. She was a talented stained glass artist. Even during her exhausting treatment for a rare and aggressive form of cancer, she was planning how to re-do her kitchen and was working on other home do-it- yourself projects. Susie had a feisty spirit and lively sense of humor. Those who knew her can attest that she took the concept of having a stubborn streak to a whole new level, even continuing to work throughout the taxing and painful treatment for her illness. Susie will be deeply missed and lives forever in the memories of her wonderful son, Joseph Kloo; husband of 23 years, Jerry Kloo; loving sisters Jane Townsend, Ibby Vores and Marilyn Slesinger; lifelong friend and "4th sister" Tina Ottman; her supportive work family at Minuteman Press of Miramar; and all the other family members and friends who were privileged to know her. Friends may call 11am-noon Saturday, April 9. Memorial service follows at Noon. View this Guest Book at www. MiamiHerald.com/obituaries.
