My Dearest Addie, your steadfast friendship has been one of the most valuable of my adult life. You have been loyal, supportive, honest, and sometimes funny- yet always real. There has been nothing that I could not turn to you with and not receive a nonjudgmental, open, yet kind response. Your value and love of family, strong work ethic, and integrity were all so strong and remarkable. We spent hours on the phone and I joked we were ‘couch buddies.’
One of the fondest memories I have is when we shared a commuter apartment in Kew Gardens and, in the middle of the night I ‘knew’ I heard scurrying around where our luggage was. I called across the room “Addie- are you up?” Of course you were not. “What?” You said. “I’m sure there’s a mouse crawling around our luggage” To which the response was: “oh hell no I’m not putting up with that” and you got up and got to the bottom of the situation- which was really some leaves blowing against the fire escape screen. Well- you gave me a pretty hard time about that for a while 😫😫😫
And, then you claimed I sang Russian songs in my sleep- which I will always deny. Haha
You were such a bright, gleaming light of friendship to me. And I refuse to let it go. You will always shine on in my heart and mind. Rest in peace, My Dear Addie
