I met Stacy while I was a student and she a caring teacher at Hialeah High School. She was a very big part of my life at that time. I'm very saddened to hear she has passed. I know her unique and creative essence will stay with everyone that knew her. This is a poem she wrote way back when. It's beautiful. I have loved it all my life.

Perhaps too deeply, yet I am part of all I have met.
I feel your pain
I shed your tears
I share your joy.
Each one part of all the whole.

She was and always will be a powerful presence and memory in my life.
I used to babysit Matthew. An adoreable little boy. Now grown, and I am sorry for yours, and Andi's loss. Only met Andi when she was a small baby. I knew her dad well.

I met Stacy when my daughter moved to Florida. I enjoyed her quick wit and discussing books we had both read. She could really dissect a book.

I met Stacy during my college years when visiting Miami for Spring Break. I was in awe of the wood turning she was doing. I am fortunate to have been given one of her beautiful quilts. She was an extremely gifted artist. She will be missed. Condolences to Andi, Matt and their family!

I loved Stacy and will miss her forever. She was one of the first people I met at FIU, and our friendship has continued to grow over the years. She had a uniquely warm personality along with a truly creative genius that is evident in every thing she touched. We have two of her art-quilts (both featuring the Mangroves in the Everglades) hung prominently in our home where we can see them and remember Stacy and her kind nature.

I am so sad to hear of Stacy's death. I am one who was mentored by Stacy when she was in the graphic arts department at Florida International University. Stacy helped me to gain expertise in quality presentation design. We became friends as she and her daughter. Andi participated in a program for organ transplant families and did a moving and memorable presentation together. I will always treasure memories of Stacy and Andi. Andi, I hope you are doing well. My heart goes out to all of you as I will miss her from afar.
