Dear Paul and John and Victor,
What a loss, but also what a life. From a comfortable upbringing in Poland to the Nazi invasion to making a a new life for herself in America -- more than once and sometimes involving real hardship. With the three of you her proudest legacy. And that in turn must make you so proud to have been her sons.
Your mother may have been the only person I have ever known about whom nobody had a bad word to say -- always brimming with good cheer, thinking the best of everyone, spreading warmth and smiles and love wherever she went. Just by way of example, as you may know my paternal grandmother, Gertrude Yost's relationship with Zosia was always one of delight in her presence. I think all of us who were privileged to know her shared that reaction.
Please accept Sandra's and my condolences for your loss - your immense loss -- one that is shared by everyone who was privileged to know your mother.
