Silvia Bravo Camaraza's Obituary
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Silvia Bravo Camaraza, affectionately known as Tati, Ms. Bravo, and Mrs. Camaraza, who entered eternal rest at the age of 94.
Born in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, Silvia dedicated her life to her family, faith, and community. She was the beloved wife of the late Rolando H. Camaraza and the proud stepmother of two daughters, Maria Victoria Camaraza Garcia and Marisa Isabel Camaraza Avello. She was also blessed with two sons-in-law: José M. Garcia Baizan, who survives her, and Mario Avello, who preceded her in death. She was a loving grandmother to Carolina, Sofia, Cristopher, Amanda, and Michael; and a cherished great-grandmother to Gabriella, Maximillian, Olivia, Dahlia, and Jordan. She also held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren’s spouses Jackie Victoria Pujol-Avello, Manuel Prieres and Alejandro Gajano.
Silvia is survived by her sister-in-law, Gladys G. Bravo, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rolando, and her siblings, Mary C. Bravo Espinosa, Esperanza Bravo de Varona, and Jorge Bravo. She now joins them in eternal rest.
For 44 years, Silvia served the community of Our Lady of Lourdes Academy with grace, wisdom, and dedication. She began her journey as a Spanish teacher, inspiring generations of young women with her passion for learning and culture. Her commitment to Lourdes and her unwavering leadership eventually led her to serve as Vice Principal of Institutional Advancement, where she worked tirelessly to strengthen the school, its mission, and its alumni community—her beloved “Muchachitas.”
Silvia will be remembered as a pillar of strength, kindness, and faith. She was not only an educator but also a mentor, advocate, and guiding light to countless students, families, colleagues, and especially to her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her life was a true testament to service, compassion, and devotion to others.
Her legacy lives on through her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the many lives she touched during her remarkable lifetime.
