SCOTT MANSFIELD's Obituary
Scott Mansfield 84, of Miami FL, passed into his final rest on Thursday, May 22, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family to the very end. Scott was born February 21, 1941, in Wilmington DE, to Paul Mansfield and Madeleine Scott. He grew up in Mexico City with his brothers Jack and Tom before studying at NMMI (New Mexico Military Institute) and then college at UofA (University of Arizona).He was an accomplished Chemical Engineer who had worked for DuPont in Argentina where he met the love of his life, Claudia Larralde. Later, he worked at Jacob’s Engineering in Pasadena CA. Besides being an engineer, Scott was a writer and used the pen name John W. Thinkwright AKA Cap’n Thinkwright. Scott was always studying and creating devices, such as a pneumatic launching device for life-saving flotation at beaches. He was the author of the book he named Engineering Design for Process Facilities which was published by McGraw Hill. He is survived by wife Claudia Larralde Mansfield and two adult children Michelle Loretta (Andy) and Paul Mansfield (Debbie) along with grandchildren Lili & Lucas Loretta and Ethan Mansfield. He is also survived by his brother Tom Mansfield (Christine) and nephew Clayton Mansfield (Karina) with grand-nephew Kai Mansfield. He was preceded in death by brother John “Jack” Mansfield and niece Cassandra Mansfield. He was extremely proud of his 3 grandchildren who called him Tata and loved all of his extended family throughout the United States, Argentina and Uruguay. His cremated remains will be transferred to a family plot in Wilmington, Delaware per his wishes.
