There has never been such a supporting friend as the big boss. Many great conversations and debates have been had on the back porch, from the presidential debates to the indication of a fully charged battery on the "smart" phone. In my times of need he was not a crutch but yet an entire army trudging through the thick with me. The memories of a great man such as Stuart will be passed on through the generations, He was like a father to me, and i will carry his spirit close to hold my own strength. Susan, you know I am always close, and the task as simple as opening a jar or starting the generator is my purpose. My most sincere condolences......

Great obit. Who wrote it? Stuart before the end? He was wry like this. After college and his marine stint we lived together in Coconut Grove. He got me in Ching Tang and I still didn't know all this. Before he was a marine DI he was a tough Chink pledger but I always loved him - the quentissential Chink. After my initiation he was the first I wanted to give the grip. We did some crazy things growing up. But he went to law school and I went to LA. We lost touch except for occasional reunions. I regret that. The last time I saw him we had a great time at a restaurant-bar he and Louis Stinson frequented. He'd had a few and was in a great mood. I had no idea he was sick. I regret that too. Hugh Wilson said he looked like a U-boat captain, which does honor to his German heritage. From what is written in the obit, he went out like that. I will miss him and never forget him. Words are not adequate to express my sadness over the passing of Stuart, your husband, friend, and love of your life. You always said that he was your rock, but you were HIS rock Susan. The strength and courage you showed over these past few months was admirable, to say the least.
I have such great memories of all the fun you and Stuart and Manny and I had at countless dinners and parties and that very special New Year's Eve we all spent in Charleston. But you know the absolute best memories were those lazy afternoons
spent on the back porch of your beautiful home watching Cole and Chester and Zoey hauling ass from one end of your giant yard to the other, jumping over hedges along the way! TRULY that was Stuart's most favorite place in the world!
Praying you find comfort in those memories and in the endless memories you shared over the years with Stuart. Like Stuart, they will forever be in your heart!
