Rudolf Herman Schulz's Obituary
Rudolf Schulz, 85, originally from Uelzen Germany moved to America as a teenager to pursue “The Dream”. He moved to Miami and began his life. He trained as an apprentice baker in German and took those skills to work at some of the classic diners on Miami Beach. He spent years at Wolfies, Pumpernick’s and finished his long career as the baker for Rascal House. If you are true Miamian, you’ve eaten some of his phenomenal baked goods. Rudy met the love of his life Vicenta. They married June 19, 1960. They just recently celebrated 60 years of enjoying life together.
Rudy is survived by a loving family - his wife Visa, his 2 sons , Herman (Valerie) and Anthony (Myrle) , and his 5 grandchildren, Vanessa, Ryan, Christopher (Brittain), Kyle (Chelsea) and Kory.
Rudy was an active member of the German American Social Club since 1976. You would always find him happily serving beer at the Miami Oktoberfest. He and Visa spent many years at “the club” doing their favorite activity, dancing beautifully to the Waltz or Polka.
Opa, as he has affectionately been known since his grandchildren were born, will be missed each an every day. A man of few words, Opa’s hard work ethic and quiet kindness has been a blessing an influence on anyone who knew him.
By all accounts the Dream was well achieved.
Rest in Peace Rudy, Daddy, Opa.
Private entombment at a later date.
