I was new to Miami in 1978 and Rudi gave me a chance at the Sonesta Beach Hotel. We went on to work together for a number of years after that in Miami. From Rudi I learned how to manage a kitchen and how to honor the chef you work for. I feel very lucky to have been able to know, work and laugh with him.
