Roxie Jo Logan Roach's Obituary
Born in Plains, GA, Roxie Jo passed away embraced by love, in her home in Miami, FL where she lived for the last 70 years. She is reunited in Heaven with her husband, Clyde, her parents, Robert Mitchell Logan and Frances Lowery Myers, sister, Jane Young, brother, Bobby Logan, and many more family members and friends.
Roxie is survived by her children, Stephen W. Roach (Tina), Roxanne Roach and Marilyn Allen (Keith); Grandchildren, Robert Roach and Stacey Pearce (Lance) and Great Grandchildren, Juliana, Annalise, Logan and Chloe; Sister-in-law, Jean Logan, and several nieces and nephews. Roxie was like a second mother to Tom Gordon and many other of her children’s friends. We will all miss her and treasure the many happy memories.
Roxie was a swimsuit model for Sears and Roebuck in the 1940s, and worked for Pan American Airlines. She set a great example as a stay at home mom who loved her family more than anything, going fishing with Clyde, traveling, and playing cards every Tuesday with her girlfriends. She taught Sunday School at Palmetto Presbyterian Church, was a camp counselor at Bar Rest Ranch in Warm Springs, GA, a tailor, knitter, painter, and an avid tennis player well into her eighties. Her southern charm made her lovable to everyone she made friends with.
No services will be held at Roxie’s request. In honor of Accent Care’s Team, especially Dr. Rando Sous; Nurse, Ivisleidys, who cared for her, even danced for her and improved her quality of life; and Rudy, her Continuous Care Nurse, who was with her during her transition and provided exceptional care and professionalism with just the right amount of humor, the family requests donations be made to Accent Care (formerly Season’s Hospice) or a charity of your choice.
