Rose M. Morris' Obituary
Rose Marie Morris, 98, passed away at her home in The Palace Suites on Saturday October 2nd. She was born in Utica, New York on Jan. 5th 1923. Her family moved to Miami in 1926 where she graduated from Gesu High School in 1941. She married James C. Morris at Gesu Church in 1944 and together they raised 10 children. She was a member of the Miami Pioneers, and past president of the Venetian Aquatic Club. As one of the founding members of St. Brendan Catholic Church, she served as Eucharistic Minister, Lector, member of The Daughters of Isabella and president of the Women's Guild.
She is survived by her children Catherine Stripling, James Morris, Marie Hudson, Nancy Ingram (David), Irene Link, Dorothy Moses (Thomas), Peter Morris, Jacqueline Wright (Mickey), Bernadette Helmuth (Edward), and Raymond Morris (Yamile), 25 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, siblings John Porter (Margaret) and Helen Prior as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mass at noon, on Friday, at St. Brendan Catholic Church, Burial at Miami Memorial Park.
