Rose Elizabeth Starling Burt
August 19, 1920 – January 29, 2019
Rose Elizabeth Burt, 98, a lifelong resident of Miami, went to heaven on January 29, 2019. Born August 19, 1920 to James Franklin Starling, Sr. and Mary P. Delgado Starling in Key West, FL. Rose married her childhood sweetheart, Vernon Burt in 1939 and they were married for 58 wonderful years.
Rose was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker to her husband and two daughters, Carol Ann Burt and Janice Amber Burt. She loved sewing, knitting and crocheting for her daughters and eventually her grandchildren. Over the years, Rose and Vernon enjoyed spending time with family and traveling to many places including Cuba, Bahamian Islands, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Germany, Hawaii, North Carolina, and all over Florida.
Rose was loved by all and will deeply be missed. Family is comforted in knowing she was at peace and ready to go with God to be with her beloved Vernon.
Rose is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary Starling, brothers Frank and Joe Starling, dear husband, Vernon, September 1997, and daughter Carol Burt Morris, Bradenton, June 2018. She is survived by daughter, Janice Burt Cramer (Ed), Miami; Grandsons Edward Burt Cramer (Christina), Riverview; and James Cramer (Monica), great-granddaughter Jazmyn Cramer, Miami; Granddaughters Marianne Morris, Bradenton; Theresa Parsons (Jim), great-granddaughter Lauren Haskell and great-grandson Brian Parsons, Tallahassee; and Jennifer Carter (Garth), great-granddaughter Meghan Marshall and great-grandson Phoenix Carter, Naples; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services by Van Orsdel Kendall, 11200 N. Kendall Drive, Miami, FL (305/279-6644). Visitation Friday, February 8, 2019, 4-9 pm; Services Saturday, February 9, 2019, 12 noon followed by Internment at Miami Memorial Park, 6200 SW 77 Avenue, Miami, FL.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association as a tribute to Rose E. Burt.
