Rosa J. Castiello's Obituary
Rosa Julia Castiello, 86, of Coral Gables FL, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026.
She was born in Cardenas, Cuba on February 9, 1940 but has lived in the greater Miami area since February 1 st , 1971. She very much enjoyed music, art and volunteer work. The latter includes service with La Liga Contra Cancer, the Spanish-American League Against Discrimination and the Dade County Medical Association Auxiliary. She took particular pride in having served as the President of the latter.
Rosa was preceded in death by parents Jose Maria and Julia Carreno and her sister Juana Carreno Guinart. She is survived by her three sons Gerardo, Alexander and John Albert; her grandchildren, including Nicolas Gerardo Castiello, Gabriel Otto Castiello, Alexander George Castiello, Benjamin Dean Castiello, Julia Frances Castiello, Josiah Castiello, Victor Castiello and Nyssa Helene Castiello; and nephew Josue Guinart Castiello.
A viewing and memorial service will be held at Van Orsdel Funeral Home in Coral Gables from 3:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. on Friday February 27, 2026, with burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery at 10 A.M. on Saturday February 28, 2026.
