Ronald "Smitty" Smith's Obituary
Smith, Ronald E., “Smitty”, 72, of Miami, Florida, died October 30, 2010 at Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida.
Ronald, the son of Stanley and Christine Smith, was born in Cuba, New York on January 27, 1938. He worked for 28 years with Eastern Airlines. He retired in 2003 from his employment with Miami Dade County. During his retirement he enjoyed walking, working in his yard and visiting with his friends every day.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Christine Smith; and his brother Terry Smith. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Elizabeth Smith; his four children, Laura (Vance) Krebs, Wayne Smith, Alan (Sarita) Smith and Dora Janke; and six grandchildren, Jacqueline and Madeline Krebs, Evan and Caroline Smith, and William and Holley Janke; and three sisters, Carol (David) Burleigh, Sandra Campbell, and Joyce (Ernie) Hedberg; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many other beloved friends.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 pm. Military Funeral Honors conducted by U.S. Army Honor Guard.
