Holbrook, Jr.
Rolfe Ray, 93, passed away Monday in Roswell, Ga. He was a veteran of WWII, and is survived by his daughter, Ann Melcher Holbrook, of Atlanta, Ga., his son, Rolfe Ray Holbrook III, daughter-in-law Marta Betancourt Holbrook and granddaughter Annie Holbrook Rich, all of Columbia, SC. His other son, Robert Gerard Holbrook and his brother Kenneth Charles Toussel are now deceased. Other survivors include his sister-in-law, Shirley Toussel, nieces Cherie Spada, Karen Newcomb, Judy Moore, Shelly Toussel and a nephew Kenneth Toussel. Rolfe was born and raised in New Orleans, by his mother May Holbrook Bergerot, his father Rolfe Sr. passed away when he was just a year old. Growing up in New Orleans he collected Mardi Gras memorabilia and recently some of his collection was obtained by the New Orleans Mardi Gras Museum. He later moved to Coral Gables and married, now deceased, Carlene Ann Hoffman of Gulf Breeze and Miami Beach., Florida. Rolfe was one of the original developers of Carver Ranches, now part of West Park, Fl. He was past President of: The Florida Gun Collectors Association, Orders and Medals Society of America and of The American Society of Arms Collectors. In 1966 he opened the Holbrook Arms Museum in North Miami. Visitation 12 noon - 1 pm Saturday June 7th at VAN ORSDEL CORAL GABLES, followed by Graveside Service 1:30 pm at Woodlawn Park Cemetery North.
