Robert Roland Saunig, 62, of Miami passed away peacefully. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on November 29, 1947 in Alexandria, Egypt to Mr. Roland and Mairy Saunig who now live in Sydney, Australia. Robert could do anything he put his mind to. He was the successful business proprietor of Raker Enterprises Corporation, an international import-export company. Robert was a world traveler, a brilliant linguist of 7 languages, a music lover, and his family’s favorite; a divine cook. Robert is survived by his wife, Dirla Saunig, daughters, Erin Saunig-Erickson of Columbia, South Carolina, Ashley Saunig of Los Angeles, California, Kylie and Isabella Saunig of Miami, Florida. He is also survived by his sister, Sylvia Anne DeCelis, brothers, John Pierre and Roger Saunig of Sydney, Australia. Robert was a loving Nonno to Brooke and Chase Erickson. Robert will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, business colleagues and friends. The family would like to thank the special people who provided endless support and loving care. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 pm.
