ROBERT L. PARKER's Obituary
Parker, Robert Logan passed away on January 10,2017 to be with the Lord and join his bride,
Betty Ann. He was a native Miamian born the 30 of July, 1930 to William F. Parker and Regina
Seals. He graduated from Miami Edison High in 1948 and went on to receive his Batchelor
degree from Washington and Lee University where he was in the SAE fraternity . In 1952 he
married Betty Ann Lanier also a native Miamian, who was born on the same day and date as
Bob..Shortly thereafter they moved to California for three years where he served as an active
duty Naval Officer. From there they embarked on a wonderful journey through the Bahamas,
beginning with Andros Island where they together with Bobs brother, Bill successfully pioneered
farming for export, built the airport and then opened the Andros (formally Angler Club)Beach
Hotel, which touted the first fresh water swimming pool in the Bahamas. Then on to Chub Cay
then farming Persian limes in Freeport, Grand Bahama and finally, taking it easy in Nassau. Bob
is survived by his 3 children, Bruce L. Parker of Hollywood, Fl, Scott R. Parker of Miami, Laura
P. Moylan and her husband Clint and grandson Carter N. Moylan of Miami, and brother Bill and
numerous nieces and nephews. A private celebration of his life and internment will be at South
Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth.
