ROBERT G. MARISTANY's Obituary
Maristany, Robert Gustavo, 68 of Miami, FL passed away on Oct. 28, 2012 after a long battle with multiple cancers. Bob was born Feb. 15, 1944 in Bronx, NY to Frank T Maristany of Cuba and Codeliva R Villarini Maristany of Puerto Rico at their home in Bronx, New York &and moved to Miami, FLl in 1954at age 10. He graduated from Miami Srenior High (1962) &and UMniversity of Miami with a BA in Education &and MA from FAUFlorida Atlantic University. He lived a life that revolved around family, education, civic duty, friends & and travel. His career as an educator with Miami-Dade Co Public Schools DCPS spanned 35 4 years, most of those at Pinecrest Elementary. Bob met Susan D Spaulding during those early years; they were married for over 20 years. They remained good friends and loving parents to their two daughters. Bob was considered by many of his students a legend, great teacher, friend, mentor & legend. mentor and friend. He enjoyed a good jokes & pranks. and was known as a prankster. Survived by daughters His daughters survive him: Kelly D Maristany of Brasstown NC, Christi L Maristany her husband Will Nunez, her & husband Will Nunez and granddaughter Emma C Nunez of Atlanta GA. His siblings Frank T Maristany (Carmen Roses) of Miami FL, & and Gladys Y Freeman (Jim) of Knoxville TN; nieces & and nephew, Nicole Maristany Krauss (Mitchell) of Miami FL, Vanessa Y & and James A Freeman of Knoxville TN On Nov 1, 2012 a celebration of his life was held, thoughts &and memories for the family may be posted online at http://www.vanorsdel.com/obituaries/Robert-Maristany2/
