ROBERT L KOEPPEL JR's Obituary
KOEPPEL, Robert L. Jr.
02/18/58 – 06/12/18
After a valiant 8-year battle with multiple myeloma, Rob departed this earthly life peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was a third generation Dade Countian and a 7th generation Floridian. He was the son of Petsy Gautier Mezey, father Robert Koeppel (d.) and stepfather Clifford Mezey (d.). He is survived by his wife Ana, children Lauren and Robert III, brother Steve, sister Peyton K. Lester, step brother Wade Mezey (Sally) and step sister Marne and a large extended family. Possessing a sharp mind and a great sense of humor, Rob graduated from Ransom High School where he was a National Merit Scholar. He attended Georgia Tech and Miami Dade where he earned his AA degree. A lifelong car enthusiast, Rob founded and was president of Force Fuel, a specialty automotive business. He loved people and animals, and will surely be greeted by two of his favorite German Shepherds in heaven. Rob was a kind and generous man. He adored his family, was loyal to his friends and treated all people fairly and equally. He never met a stranger. Thanks to Rob’s strong will and the efforts of Dr. Citron and the wonderful oncology nurses at South Miami Hospital, he was with us longer than expected, and was able to take some wonderful trips with his family. For this we are grateful. Services will be held at 11 am on June 23rd at St. Hugh Catholic Church in Coconut Grove. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
