ROBERT JEROME FILER, FAIA 11/5/32 to 11/18/2021
Experience:
Jerome Filer started the firm in 1962, as the President and sole proprietor. The firm has undergone several name changes over the years and ended up as Filer and Hammond Architects, Inc. He has been a designer, quality control plans reviewer, plans processor, specification writer, performed contract administration and field inspections and prepared reports, and handled client contact for the duration of the firm's existence. He has served on the Miami Dade Construction Trades Licensing Board for 17 years. Jerome Filer's service to the profession and his design work have also been featured on numerous other occasions including in the Miami Herald, Contact and the So. Fl. C.S.I. Newsletter. He has received the highest award for an architect by being recognized as a Fellow of The American Institute Of Architects.

(Of almost five hundred members, this award has been presented to only twenty individuals)

1984 Selected Delegate (service to the program) AIA Florida Pan American Congress of Architects, Panama City, Panama
The South Florida Chapter, as a component with a substantial Latin American population, was the only U.S. Chapter invited to send a
delegate to the Pan-American Congress. Jerome was selected from among the Chapter's five-hundred members, and along with representatives
from National AIA, championed the interests of American architects.

1981 Award of Service AIA Miami Recognition afforded to the Nominee "for unselfish dedication through monumental effort, beneficial to all within this organization." 1980 Certificate of Appreciation AIA Miami Presented "for his outstanding work on behalf of the Chapter as Chairman of the Florida South Chapter (now AIA Miami) Cultured Flea Market for Service to the profession. 1980 Selected Designer B.A.S.F. by Builders Association of South Florida; The nominee was the selected finalist from among some twenty-five architects to design a home to showcase the many products of vendors, suppliers, and member builders; the showcase home was exhibited for one year and was then sold with
proceeds benefitting the Builders Association. A design award for the BASF home of the ‘80s.
