ROBERT "BOB" KENNETH NELSON's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Kenneth Nelson passed away on July 1, 2016 in Miami, Florida. He was born October 10, 1930 in Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. He is predeceased by his parents Andrew Floyd Nelson and Ethel Margaret Herman and his older brother Andrew Floyd Nelson Jr. He is survived by his younger sister Margaret Elizabeth Nelson (Woerpel).
Bob married Norma Carol Short on April 12, 1958 and they celebrated 58 years of marriage together. They had two sons Steven Andrew who was born in 1963 and Randall Craig who was born in 1965.
Bob served reserve duty in the United States Navy and served active duty upon the U.S.S. WASP and the U.S.S. Missouri. He received an honorable discharge in 1953 at Jacksonville Florida Naval Air Station. Bob graduated from Lindsey Hopkins Vocational School in 1954.
Bob was employed by the City of Miami in November of 1950 and he worked at the Hialeah Lime Plant which later became the Miami Dade Water and Sewer Department. He retired in July 2014 having worked 63 years for the department.
Bob was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and a wonderful provider for his family. He will remain in our hearts forever.
Bob is survived by his wife Norma Carol, sons Steven and Randall his wife Amy and three beautiful granddaughters Amanda, Michelle and Emily.
