Robert John Barker
October 21, 1960-July 1, 2015
Beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, Robert passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 1. Son of James T. and Montye Barker of Coral Gables, and Molly Steadman of Corpus Christi, Texas, Robert was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and later moved to Miami with his family, where he spent the rest of his life. A veteran, Robert served in the Army and was stationed in Seoul, South Korea for three years.
Robert's zest for living and loving each and every minute of life will be missed by all he leaves behind; especially Jim and Montye Barker, brothers John Danese, Bryan Barker, and Tom Barker (Corinne); sister Gaye Barker Walker (Steve); aunt Alyce Adkins; uncle Billy Barker; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Visitation 5 pm until Service time 6 pm Wed. July 8th at Van Orsdel Coral Gables Chapel, 4600 S.W. 8th Street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America and Wounded Warriors.
