Dr. Rick Keith Blackwood Ph.D., D. Min., Ed.D's Obituary
Dr. Rick Keith Blackwood PhD., DMin, EdD, a Christian pastor and teacher of God’s Word, died on Friday, August 4 2023 at the age of 66 years old.
Pastor Rick is survived by his wife, Rhonda Blackwood, his brother Michael Blackwood, his two daughters, Natalie and Rebekah, and his four grandchildren.
Pastor Rick was born on November 2, 1956 in South Carolina to Walter Gene Blackwood and Maxine Odom Blackwood. He graduated from Baptist Bible College with a Bachelor of Science in Springfield, Missouri, and he was a Graduate of Theology in the same institution. Rick Blackwood also graduated with a Master of Arts from Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, Alabama, a Master of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia, a Doctor of Ministry from Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana, a Doctor of Philosophy from California Graduate School of Theology in Glendale, California, and a Doctor of Education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
On November 5, 1977 he married Rhonda, his college sweetheart. Together, they welcomed their two daughters Natalie and Rebekah on December 13, 1978 and March 14, 1982, respectively.
Pastor Rick was a devoted father, a loving husband and a giant of the faith. His hobbies included martial arts, baseball, fishing, golfing, vintage cars, and riding his motorbike. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Christ Fellowship Church’s Palmetto Bay Campus. If you cannot attend in-person, we will have a livestream available at cfmiami.org/live.
