RICHARD RAYMOND ROWE's Obituary
Born in Miami, FL, September 26, 1925, to C. M. & Carol Kiner Rowe; Raymond died November 23, 2016, at the age of 91. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Jane Carmichael Rowe, and brothers Jack and Lamar Rowe. Raymond is survived by his step-son John Douglas Mayo, step-daughter Pamela Mayo, his sister-in-law Alvina Rowe, his sister-in-law Linda Carmichael Howard and her husband Tommy, and his brother-in-law Michael Carmichael.
Raymond served in the Army 88th Infantry Division in Italy during WWII and received the Purple Heart. He then worked for Florida Power & Light for more than 40 years with his last position as Repairmen “A” responsible for the Tool Room and light maintenance.
Raymond loved the Everglades and lived with the Miccosukee for a while. A true outdoorsman, he loved to fish, camp, and raise orchids. Also a lover of poetry, Raymond won an award for his poem entitled “Evening in the Everglades.”
A member of Gateway Baptist Church, Raymond loved his church and his Lord.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 30, in the Van Orsdell Chapel (11220 N. Kendall Dr.) at 11:00 a.m. with visitation before the service at 10:00; Pastor Steve Ray will officiate.
