RICHARD GUY MARTIN's Obituary
Richard Guy Martin, 92, resident of Miami Springs, Florida went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ on December 8, 2022 surrounded his by family in Jupiter, Florida. He will be greatly missed, but
we know he is in a far better place.
Richard was born in Miami on November 4, 1930, the youngest child of Guy and Harriet Martin. He
graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1948. He served in the Naval Air Reserve for over ten
years. Richard worked for Pan American World Airways as an aircraft mechanic for 42 years until the
company stopped operations in 1991.
Richard was a member of Crossbridge Church Miami Springs and was a resident of Miami Springs for
over 70 years and received the Miami Springs Pioneer Resident Award in December 1991.
He enjoyed traveling and camping with his family, golfing with his brothers and woodworking.
Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. His humor, willingness to help and
generosity will be remembered by all. He was predeceased by his wife, Janet of 50 years and daughter
Melanie Kennedy. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Baker and her husband Alan, son-in-law Jeffrey
Kennedy, three grandsons James Baker, Robert Baker (Jennifer) and Zachary Kennedy (Alondra), two
great-granddaughters Hannah and Aubrey Baker, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and
grandnephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 20th at 10 am at the Van Orsdel Coral Gables Funeral Chapel, 4600 SW 8 th Street, Coral Gables. Interment to follow at Flagler Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Crossbridge Church, the Lupus Foundation,
Samaritan’s Purse, or Habitat for Humanity.
