Ray was my probation officer for a few years, about ten years back. He was hands down one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. He always greeted me with a hug, and the warmest of smiles. Needless to say, that warmth and kindness is not something you'd expect from someone in his line of work, not when you're a convict under his supervision, anyways. He always told me how much he believed in me, and how sure he was I'd make something of myself. For whatever reason I've had him on my mind lately, something told me to google him, and I was truly heart broken to find this. Rest in peace, Ray.
Ray and I were members of the 3220th Garrison, Just heard of his passing. I would have certainly been there to honor my friend. He was the leader of the CHIEFS- we affectionately held a meeting for 10 minutes before during the day of drill o Drill Weekend. Saw him at the 3220th Picnic in April and we had our meeting.
