I will never forget the amazing times we shared as concierges at The Pierre in New York City. You were always by my side – in good times and in hard times – a true and loyal friend.

My darling Randy,
I can’t believe you are gone. My heart is broken. Yours was so big. You brought joy and lightness in our lives. Oh those happy days at the beach! You made life feel so easy, you took care of everything, giving me respite for a day when I was struggling so badly the rest of the time. I hope you know how grateful I was. How grateful I am for knowing you. When I think of you, I see you walking down the street lifting Ocean with two fingers. That's how light you made us feel. I see you standing in the waves with him at Jacob Riis beach, and him having so much fun. I couldn't do that with him. And I don't know if there's anyone else than you I would have trusted to do it. I cherish these memories.
I thought we had you forever. In our hearts we do.

So many beautiful memories, from our stay with you in Toronto, ON to your and Robert Koutras amazing wedding, and spending a week touring around New York City with you. You were always so generous with your time. I have wonderful memories of your visits to BC in 90’s and again for my daughter, your niece - Jordan Tyler and Sandy Tyler wedding. You have a huge part of my heart. Love sister Dar💞

Randy and I met in 80's when he was a Bartender at a pub in West Edmonton Mall and I worked at the movie theatre a few doors down. We were just babies then, in our 20's! Many of us in the mall finished our days in the pub and we became fast friends. I was looking for a new place to live and a roommate , and serendipity stepped in - Randy had a place and was looking for a roommate! We had great fun and I so enjoyed being his friend and roommate. We lived together downtown until he moved to Toronto. There weren't smart phones at the time so sadly, I only have a few pictures . I vistied Randy a few times in Toronto and of course he was an amazing host. One morning I woke up to hear him practicing Spanish. I followed his voice and found him talking to his dog, Nelson. It was hilarious how Nelson was trying hard to understand. I cherish my memories of our friendship, and the great times we had. Randy will always be remembered with Love and Laughter. Rest in Peace dearest friend.

Randy was one of the most giving and thoughtful of people I have ever known. He consistently went above and beyond to make sure every person felt special. This included is amazing sense of humour and confection felt by his friends and colleagues just by speaking with him or being in his presence. He leaves a lasting legacy of life, love and laughter.

I met Randy in Edmonton in 1984 when he was dating my roommate. Their union didn't last long but our friendship did. We had many adventures in Edmonton, later in Toronto, and also during the years he was in NYC. The last time I saw him we attended a mediocre production of one of my plays in New York, went for dinner after and laughed and laughed. That's when this photo was taken. He was a creature of beauty, life, and love and will be keenly missed by many. So sad I never got to see him again although we were in touch.
