RAFAEL AGUILAR's Obituary
A wonderful man, husband, father, and grandfather, Rafael Aguilar Sr., 58, of Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6th, 2017 at the West Kendall Baptist Hospital.
Rafael Sr. was born December 30, 1958 in Havana, Cuba to Manuel and Odelma (Santana) Aguilar. He attended Carol City Senior High School, and lived most of his life in Carol City and West Kendall. Rafael Sr. was a loving man and a kid at heart who enjoyed spending time with friends and family, cooking, and coaching baseball. He always tried to lend a helping hand and offer sound advice to everyone he met. For over 15 years, he coached baseball and served on numerous committees in the Miami Lakes Optimist Club. When he wasn’t coaching baseball, he enjoyed listening to 70’s oldies and disco music, watching his beloved Miami Dolphins, and playing poker. However, in the end, his most precious activity was spending time with his new grandson and making him laugh.
Rafael Sr. was enormously proud of his son Rafael Aguilar Jr. and grandson Rafael Gabriel Aguilar of Miami, Florida. He is also survived by his sister Lizbeth Aguilar-Glenn and brother Armando Aguilar; Dellamira (Delly) Gonzalez, his partner and best friend for over 20 years; his beloved dog Cookie; and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held for family and friends on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, El Sagrado Corazon Chapel, 4497 West 1st Avenue, Hialeah, Florida 33012.
