PIERRE WILDS DUBOSE, Jr's Obituary
Rev. Pierre Wilds DuBose, Jr., 87, of Miami, Florida, entered into the Lord’s presence on April 19, 2016, at Mount Sinai Medical Center due to heart failure. Born in Miami on August 26, 1928, he is survived by his wife Roselis Pacheco DuBose, twin daughters Rebekah (Kevin) Beary and Lois (William) Swanson, son George (Gail) DuBose, beloved in-laws Eliel (Angelita) da Cunha Pacheco, Alberes (Teresa Cristina) da Cunha Pacheco, Elcio (Selene) da Cunha Pacheco, Janielse (Claudio) Motta, Denise (Antonio Cezar) Uchoa, and Gisela DuBose. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pierre was preceded in death by his son Pierre DuBose III. Pierre received a Master of Divinity from Columbia Seminary, Decatur, Georgia, after graduating from the University of Florida where he played football for his beloved Gators. Pierre founded Camp Didakee for youth while serving at Hampden DuBose Academy, Zellwood, Florida, a Private Christian Boarding School founded by his parents. He was pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church for 25 years in Miami after 25 years of missionary work in Brazil under the Presbyterian Mission Board. His missionary work included flying deep into the northeast jungles of the Amazon basin, founding a national literacy program based on the Bible called Cruzada ABC, and pastoring numerous churches along the way. A memorial service will be held First Miami Presbyterian Church in the Flagler Chapel on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 10 am.
