My Dearest Peter..
There are no words to describe how much I miss you......my friend, my confidante, my soul mate for over 40 years. To my daughters Kendra and Caity, you were their "Uncle Peter", and they loved you dearly...always loving the notes and birthday cards you would send, and how they would come to me to decipher what you had written...(your art work, your photos were so beautiful! Your handwriting? Not so great...lol)..., but I take great pride in the fact that I could actually read it after a lot of practice! I remember the last time the girls and I came to Tarrytown for a visit. It was so good to see you, to have you show us all that you had accomplished with the house, (what a beautiful "Labor of Love"), and to see how proud you were to see it renewed to it's original grandeur. Caity and Kendra still remember the time you spent with them, enjoying a glass, (bottle?) of wine...lol, and relating the story of how WE met, and then their father. All the interesting and funny stories....you told them...the history of our friendship..and then you recited the poem, "Jenny kissed me" for them, just like you did for me so many years before. You were an amazing man who I loved, and still do love! Thank you for coming into my life, and my family's life...you truly were a gift from God, and now I hope you are one of my guardian angels...always present, always near. There will always be a special place in my heart for you. One more thing....Becky, my youngest, the one you never got to meet, passed away a little while ago....if you run into her...( I'm sure you'll have no problem recognizing her....she'll be the girl with the "peaches & cream complexion), and the prettiest smile you've ever seen! Will you tell her stories also, and give her a hug from her old mom? I'd like that a lot! . Sooo, "Good Bye" for now, my "Midnight Phone Calls "partner in crime"...lol. I hope that that I have good enough that I will see you again.
Love always,
Sandy
