Penelope "Penny" Karakosta Grabova's Obituary
Mrs. Penelope “Penny” Karakosta Grabova. Born August 21, 1935 died April 5, 2023. She was a First generation Albanian-American born to Gus and Roksani Karakosta in Illinois but called Florida home. She married Zoi Grabova in June of 1958 and together raised four daughters, Karen, Sharen, Dorene and Eileen. Penny and Zoi were very dedicated to the Greek Orthodox faith. They were one of the founding couples of the St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church of Miami, Florida. Penny was an active member of the Philloptohos and Daughters of Penelope for many years. Penny had the gift of hospitality and loved to entertain friends and family. She enriched the lives of all she touched; whether it be with her fine cooking, beautiful sewing or hilarious game playing and practical jokes. Penny was fun loving, generous and kind to all who knew her. She will be forever missed. She leaves behind her four daughters: Karen (Mark) Cable, Sharen (Ben)Fowler, Dorene (Craig) Grabova, and Eileen (Harry II) Demiris. Ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
