Peggy Joyce Scott's Obituary
Scott, Peggy Joyce was born in Cochran, Georgia July 20, 1928, passed away on July 5, 2012. She was a graduate of Miami High, class of 1947. She moved to Miami as a child. Peggy attended Bird Road Baptist Church for many years where she met the love of her life. Peggy married Vernon Scott on June 6, 1948. Together they started a family business (Scott Appliances) in 1962 and Peggy worked there until she was 82. As the family matriarch, she was always available to support her family and friends. She was also a member of the Native’s of Dade. Peggy was a devoted mother who extended that love to her 6 grand-children and 5 great grand-children. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Scott, sister Hazel Davis and sister Sally Burkey. She is survived by her children Debra (Dan) Cabrera, David (Bonnie) Scott, Mark (Marcel) Scott and her sister Mary (James) Hall. Services will be held at Van Orsdel Bird Road Chapel, Tuesday, 7-10-12, from 10AM until 12PM. Interment at Miami Memorial Park will be private.
