PAUL P. SEGURA's Obituary
Born June 2, 1920 in Segura, LA, he passed peacefully on 11/18/12 at the age of 92. He is survived by his wife Fran, children Paul E Segura (Elaine) and daughter Kathy Menezes (Marco).
He is also survived by grandchildren Charles VanHorn, Brian VanHorn, Sunshine Menezes (Ray Gennari), Magdalena Walcott (Matt), Noelle Rodriguez (Jose), Joey Segura, and great granddaughters Sara and Marlowe.
Paul was preceded in death by a son (Joseph) and a daughter (Georgii).
Paul was a WW II veteran and served in the Pacific and North Atlantic theaters where he assisted in landing troops in multiple locations, including Guadalcanal. He retired from the US Coast Guard and then worked at Eastern Airlines until retirement. He was very active in the LIFT Senior Center and was both a founding member and a lifetime board member. Paul always had a smile, was ready with a laugh, and was loved by all who knew him. Paul and Fran were fortunate to enjoy 69 years of marriage.
A Life Celebration service for Paul will be held Saturday, November 24 at the Kendall Drive Van Orsdel Funeral Home at 5 pm. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home at 4 pm.
