In Loving Memory of Patricia “Pati” Mull
Patricia “Pati” Mull, 83, a remarkable and accomplished woman, peacefully passed away in her home in Homestead, FL on January 19, 2024. Born on the beautiful West Indian island of Barbados, Pati was a true bon vivant and left an indelible mark on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Pati's diverse talents and unwavering dedication led her to become an iconic figure in various fields. She was a gifted pianist, horticulturist, pilot, CPA, financial advisor, philanthropist, author, humanitarian, and an esteemed Founder of Baptist Hospital. Her journey began in Barbados, where she was raised by noted medical parents. Her father, a distinguished physician, and her mother, an internationally recognized medical horticulturist, were both honored by appearing on the island’s stamp for their significant contributions to medicine.
Pati's Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and in 2000, she was recognized with the Pontifical Jubilation Award from the Archdiocese of Miami for her outstanding work with the Catholic Church. Patricia earned an accounting degree from Florida Atlantic University and embarked on a groundbreaking career beginning with the prestigious firm of Price Waterhouse in Florida. Notably, she was one of only two women hired by the firm at that time, playing a crucial role in breaking down barriers for women CPAs.
Her professional journey continued when she founded her own CPA firm in Tavernier, which later became the largest CPA firm in the Florida Keys. Pati's commitment to service extended to her role as a Red Cross coordinator in the Florida Keys and as a dedicated Founder and Chairperson for Mariners Baptist Hospital in Tavernier.
Patricia Mull is survived by her loving son Robert in Florida, as well as two sisters residing in Spain and Australia. Her partner, Jim, and the countless friends she cherished around the world will deeply miss her charm and caring nature. The passing of Pati Mull is a profound loss that we all share, and her legacy will forever inspire those who knew her.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Pati will be held at 11 AM on February 17, 2024 at San Pedro Catholic Church 89500 Overseas Hwy, Tavernier, FL 33070.
May she rest in peace.
