NORMA ROJAS's Obituary
Norma Rojas, 67, died April 3, 2017, at her home in Miami, Florida, peacefully and with her family.
Norma was born on September 14, 1949, in Masaya, Nicaragua. She was the third oldest of six children. She was predeceased by her mother, Angela Quiroz (née Gomez), and her father, Arnoldo Quiroz.
After immigrating to the United States in 1970, Norma graduated from La Guardia Community College in Long Island City, New York with an Associate degree in Business Administration. She worked for Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City for many years in the International Banking Department, until her retirement in 1998 when she and Juan moved to Florida.
Norma loved to garden, cook authentic Nicaraguan dishes, read Spanish poetry, listen to Spanish love songs, and spend time with her family. She also loved to travel back to Nicaragua to reconnect with family and friends. She loved her three faithful companions, her three dogs: Demi, Cookie, and Pancake.
Norma is survived by her husband, Juan M. Rojas; two daughters, Linda and Scarlett; three granddaughters, Ashley, Victoria, and Isabella; and two great-grandchildren, Brielle and Kal-El. She is also survived by five siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends.
A viewing will take place on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Van Orsdel Family Funeral Chapels and Crematory, at their Central Miami location, 3333 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. All are welcome.
The family would like to extend our gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and medical staff who treated her with dignity and respect during her recent medical challenges.
