I met Monica at a local gym in 2009. She was my first "gym" friend, and an everlasting one. She was the one gym member to reach out to the new gringo girl and be welcoming. I stayed in the gym because my "gym" friend was expecting me to be there to exercise with her. Having a "gym" buddy made it so much fun. Eventually, we left the gym, but stayed in touch over the years. She came for dinner, parties, or we went to lunch. Always at El Flordita. It was our go-to restaurant. Her heart was pure and she was beautiful in and out. I am so sorry to have lost a wonderful friend. I give my sympathy to Monica's family for their tremendous loss. But, I am so grateful to have spent time with her when it mattered. I am so grateful that she let me be her friend in good times and in bad. I wish Monica and family peace and love.
