Mizpah Grace Albury's Obituary
On Tuesday, April 27th, 2021, Mizpah Grace Saunders Albury went home to be with the Lord at the age of 92.
Mizpah was born in Miami, FL on March 13th, 1929. She went to Highland Park Elementary School, A.D. Merritt Junior High School and Miami High School. After graduating from high school in 1948, she worked for East Coast Transfer.
In 1949, she met John Wesley Albury, and they fell in love and were married in 1951. They were blessed to have three children, Donna, Linda (John) and John Ronald (Sara).
Mizpah was preceded in death by her mother Hattie Myrtle and father Ernest Uriah, her husband John, her son John Ronald and two brothers, William Henry Saunders and Paul Edwin Saunders, her sister-in-law Patty Saunders, her nephew Chuck Saunders, and her niece Susan Saunders Young. She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Matthews and Linda LeClaire (John), her daughter-in-law Sara Albury, her five grandchildren, Andy Matthews, Daniel Matthews, Kelly Matthews, Jordan Albury and Matthew Albury, four brothers, Ernest Marshall Saunders (Ruth), Robert Leslie Saunders (Betty), Philip Douglas Saunders (Linda) and Charles Clifford Saunders, and three sisters-in-law Dolly Saunders, Ruth Saunders and Elsie Albury Bledsoe, and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
In Mizpah’s younger days, she loved gardening and making special flowering baskets. She also had a flare for decorating. In her later years, going to garage sales and finding hidden “treasures” was her passion.
Mizpah was a woman with a huge heart and a sweet gentle spirit. Everyone who met her instantly fell in love with her. Mizpah loved the Lord and always put Him first in her life, after having given her life to Him as a young girl. She loved attending church with her family and attended Bible Truth Chapel and Kendall Presbyterian Church. Mizpah’s three children all gave their lives to the Lord at an early age because of her godly influence in their lives.
Mizpah’s greatest passion was her grandchildren, who she adored and who adored her. We are so grateful that the Lord blessed her with a long sweet life. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her, and we will always cherish all the special memories that we have of her vibrant life.
