Birth date: May 10, 1932 Death date: Apr 11, 2014

Middleton was an inspiration to us all. We met at the Institute for Child and Family Health, and hit it off instantly. We enjoyed our clinical talks about the kids we service in our population as well as, our Caribbean background. I always told Middleton that I admired him for his tenacity, doing his doctorate in his seventies and still working in his eighties!!! I did my doctorate in my thirties and it was mentally and physically taxing, I could not imagine how much strength and perseverance it took to accomplish in his seventies. I always treated Middleton with kindness and respect, just as I would want someone to treat my dad. In our many talks, I learned that Middleton knew my grandfather when he was living in Trinidad. That was so special to me because I lost my grandfather a long time ago. Middleton was so kind, and always a gentleman, he was always asking about my son, and my parents in Trinidad. He was funny and appreciated his English tea time here at work. Middleton will surely be missed. I express my sincere and heartfelt condolences to his wife Phyllis, and his children, all of whom he talked about with the fondest of memories. May God comfort you all at this difficult time and in the moments ahead. He was happy helping the kids, and I believe he passed away with great purpose in life. Thank you Middleton for sharing your life with us here at ICFH.
I will miss our tea time and your company. May you rest in peace.
Love Always, Joanna Headley-Pigott , David and Jacob
