Dr. MICHAEL K PHANG's Obituary
Dr. Michael K. Phang passed away peacefully on Father’s Day, June 16, 2019. He was born in Seoul, South Korea, on September 15, 1931, and he immigrated to the United States at the age of 19. After obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree from Gonzaga University and his Master’s Degree from Washington State University, he obtained his Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic University in Civil Engineering.
For more than 50 years, Michael loved his work as a college professor, and he dedicated his professional life to educating young men and women. His greatest joy was celebrating life with his wife and spending time with his two granddaughters.
Michael is survived by the love of his life, Jean, who he married on June 26, 1971. He is also survived by his two children, David (his wife, Mary Beth) and Katie (her husband, Jonathan), and his two granddaughters, Patricia and Charlotte (Charlie).
