Michael (“Mike”) Holloway McHugh
Michael (“Mike”) Holloway McHugh passed away on July 4th, 2019 in Coconut Grove, FL. Born in White Plains, NY on April 1, 1978, Mike grew up in Fairfield, CT, attended Fairfield High School, Purdue University and Fairfield University. After pursuing his passion for winemaking in Willamette Valley, OR, he moved to Miami, FL in 2003 and began a career in real estate. Mike was happiest when sailing on Biscayne Bay or skiing out West. He had a passion for photography and history, loved good music, the outdoors, and was immensely creative. Mike won numerous Halloween costume contests with his homemade creations and could quote hundreds of movie lines, often with hilarious impersonations. He enjoyed spending time with kids and shared his passion for sailing by teaching at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club. Mike relished a round of golf, barbequing, cooking and kicking back with friends, sharing a joke or a great story. He loved his family dearly and always looked forward to family celebrations together. Mike had a huge heart and was loved by all who were lucky enough to know him. He joins his father, Thomas J. McHugh in heaven and is survived by his mother, Jennifer Holloway McHugh, sister, Elizabeth McHugh Castro, and uncle, Dean Holloway.
There will be a celebration of his life on Friday, July 19th, 2019 from 5:30 – 8 pm at The Key Biscayne Yacht Club, 180 Harbor Dr. Key Biscayne, FL 33149. All who loved Mike are welcome to join.
