Merry E. Wynne's Obituary
Merry E. Wynne, 79, of Plantation, FL, died peacefully on January 9, 2024.
Merry was born in Marietta, GA, in 1944 to Charles and Ellen Wynne. The third of four children, she moved with her family to Sunny Isles Beach, FL, in 1951. Merry attended North Miami Senior High School, where she was a vital member of the diving team. After graduating, she continued her diving career on a tour of Latin America. She held various jobs before studying at Lindsey Hopkins Technical College to become a licensed massage therapist. Merry enjoyed working for many years as a massage therapist and physical therapy aide at SportClinic in North Miami, FL.
One of Merry’s greatest joys came when she welcomed her son, Danny, in 1973. She took great pride in being his mother and was always quick to share his superlatives with family, friends, and strangers alike. A few years after she welcomed Danny’s wife Sadie to the Wynne family, Merry earned her new favorite title: “Muggy.” That’s what her grandchildren, CeCi and Veronica, called her! She loved to laugh with her granddaughters and always marveled at how quickly they became taller than she was!
Merry will be remembered for her devotion to others and the way she always cared for the people in her life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Merry was preceded in death by her parents, Charles T. and Ellen M. Wynne, brother Peter Israel, sister-in-law Sarah Israel, brother-in-law Edward Frystock, niece Denyse DeLuca, and nephew Nicholas DeLuca. She is survived by her son Danny (Sadie) Wynne, granddaughters Cecilia and Veronica Wynne, sister Diane Frystock, brother Mark (Gail) Wynne, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, at 2:30 pm at Fred Hunter’s Hollywood Memorial Gardens North, 3001 N. 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, FL 33024. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to MiCasa Senior Living, 6021 Duval Street, Hollywood, FL, 33024, would be greatly appreciated.
