Mercedes Augusta Sidor's Obituary
Mercedes Sidor, passed away peacefully in her home on May 9th, 2024.
“Noni”,as she was lovingly called by her grandchildren, was born on June 24th, 1928 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and migrated to the United States in 1964 with her husband and children.
Her husband and their three children were her passion, having become a mother at an early age, she was tempered by the challenges of the times heading a household with runaway inflation and other challenges, and settled permanently in Olivos, Buenos Aires Province. It was there that she learned to speak fluent Italian to communicate better with her neighbors originally from there.
After Ladislao’s retirement, the couple moved to Miami, Florida where they continued their dedication to nurturing a growing family as active and engaged grandparents and great-grandparents; being supportive without being intrusive.
She was an incurable optimist with a very strong religious faith which gave her a tireless generous spirit. She was indeed a bright example of what is possible to achieve with love, determination and dedication, always accompanied by her devoted husband Ladislao and the noble principles which she learned as a child.
Her wisdom, her words, her actions, her work, her generosity and her example; in short, her spirit lives within all those who took the time to know her –even a little. Indeed, she was loved by everyone.
Mercedes Augusta Alexander de Sidor, “Beba” is survived by her children Osvaldo A. Sidor (Cristina), Graciela M. Panelo Sidor (Raul) and Ricardo A. Sidor; grandchildren Andrea, Yvonne, Sergio, Eric, Nicol and Margaret and great-grandchildren Hunter, Jennifer, Julian, Adrian, Sebastian Joshua, Viviana, Sebastian Eric and Johnny.
