MELVIN ANDREW RANSOM's Obituary
Melvin A. Ransom passed away peacefully at his home on January 25, 2017. Melvin known to his family as “Cigar” was born February 7, 1929 in Mayfield KY and grew up in Chattanooga TN. He served with the U.S.A.F. during the Korean War. After the war, Melvin obtained his bachelors degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee. He spent his entire career of 32 years as an electrical engineer with Florida Power and Light. He was married to his wife Betty (predeceased) for 59 years. Melvin is survived by his sister, Peggy Wilson, son Preston, grandson Preston II, nieces Stacey and Stephanie. As per Melvin’s wish no services will be held.
