Melissa Renee Stewart's Obituary
Melissa Renee Stewart entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 22, 2026, at 1:53 PM (Florida time). Though her time on this earth feels far too short to those who love her, her life was marked by courage, devotion, and eternal purpose.
Melissa was a proud and brave United States Army veteran. She battled a rare lung disease caused by toxic exposure with extraordinary strength and resilience. Even in her most difficult moments, she demonstrated quiet courage and steadfast endurance that inspired those around her.
She was deeply loved by her mother, Cheryl Stewart, her father, Robert Stewart, and her younger sister, Chelsea Stewart. She was a cherished daughter and sister whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and meaning into their lives. Her spirit was both tender and strong — a rare and beautiful combination.
Those who knew Melissa remember her determination, her compassion, and the light in her smile. Her life, though not as long as anyone wished, was deeply impactful.
While her family grieves the painful separation, they do not grieve without hope. As Scripture reminds us:
“We do not sorrow as those who have no hope.”
— 1 Thessalonians 4:13
Melissa’s name is written in the Book of Life, and her family rests in the promise that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). She is now fully whole, fully restored, and at peace in the arms of Jesus.
The Stewart family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of prayer, love, and support shown during this difficult season.
A celebration of Melissa’s life will be announced by the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hold your loved ones close, live with eternity in view, and continue Melissa’s legacy of courage, faith, and perseverance.
