MELINDA BETH KELLEY's Obituary
Melinda Shea-Kelley, 69, passed away February 22 after a long, courageous battle with a rare disease called Inclusion Body Myositis. A celebration of her life will be held at VAN ORSDEL CORAL GABLES on Saturday, February 25th at 2:00 p.m. Melinda, also known as "Mini" or "Melin" was born to Evelyn and Clyde Shea on October 31, 1947 in Niagra Falls. She graduated from State University of New York College at Geneseo with a bachelors degree in biology. Following graduation, she had a successful career at Burger King as a quality assurance executive for many years until she decided to share her many talents with the family business, Warren Technology. She married Winfield(Roy)Kelley in 1980. Together they enjoyed the view of the Miami skyline from their Brickell Avenue apartment for 37 years. Some of her hobbies included music, shopping, boating, snorkeling, reading, and traveling as well as being a generous supporter of many different charities. A lover of cats, sushi and Misha's cupcakes, the thing she enjoyed most was spending time with her loving family. Melinda is survived by her husband as well as her sister, Sharon Draper, her step-daughter Lisa Hamilton, and 2 step-grandchildren Kyle and Taylor Hamilton. Instead of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to IBMF, the Inclusion Body Myositis Foundation at IBMfoundation.org.
