Melanie S. Green's Obituary
GREEN, Melanie S., 68, died peacefully July 18, 2013. Born in Mobile, AL., she moved to Miami at age 5 and attended Coral Gables Senior High. She was married to Robert L. Searle Jr. for 16 years and became the proud mother of three daughters – Trisha Brophy, Denise Searle and Michelle “Shelly” Searle. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Edwin M. Green and was a stepmother to his three children ,Kelly, Tim and Chris Green. During her life she was president of the Coral Gables Junior Women’s Club, was an active member of Christ Journey Church (formally University Baptist Church), sang in the church choir, taught preschool, Sunday school and volunteered countless hours to serve members of her church and the community. A devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Her eyes and smile could brighten anyone’s day. She is predeceased by her parents, Reverend Marvin & Velma Smith, two sisters, Maxine Pevehouse & Martha Clem. She is survived by her three daughters, six grandchildren, eight nieces & nephews and one sister, Marilyn Jay. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd at 2pm at the Christ Journey Church, Coral Gables.
