Mary Therese Karam's Obituary
KARAM, Mary Therese (nee Hanna), 95, of Miami, passed away peacefully on
Monday, January 4, 2010. Mary was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on September 11, 1914,
a daughter of Dahir and Sylvia Hanna. She was the widow of Anees Karam of Mandeville,
Jamaica. Mary had lived in Miami for the past 35 years. She will be greatly missed by her
3 children, Dr. Nellie James-Douglas (Richard Mahfood, QC), Wadih Karam (Barbara), and
Shirley Clerk (Robert), 4 sisters, 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and her loving caregiver, Hazel Lawrence-Gardner. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010, at 11 AM, at All Souls' Episcopal Church, 4025 Pine Tree Dr., Miami Beach, celebrated by the Rt. Rev. John Tidy and Rev. Canon James Shoucair (Mary's beloved
grandson). In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations in Mary's name to Bascom Palmer Eye
Development Department, 900 NW 17 Street, Miami, FL 33136 (for Macular Degeneration
