Mary Shirley (Yunis) Yoham

Miami, FL- Surrounded by her large and loving family Shirley Yoham passed away on May 9, 2023. Her devoted husband of 65 years held her hand as Shirley peacefully descended into the hands of her loving Lord.
She is survived by the love of her life, Robert (Bobby) Yoham and leaves behind many broken hearts. Her children Debbie Parent (Douglas), John Yoham, Thomas Yoham, Anthony Yoham (Rosy), Gary Yoham (Carlos) and Eileen Yoham adored their beloved mother as did her 11 grandchildren, Kassie Siegel (Jonathan), Doug Parent (Isa), Brooke and Alexis Yoham, Krista Joblove (Mark), Justin Forti (Amanda), Karina Forti, Laura Garrote, Anthony Yoham Jr., Bill Jr. and Zachary Gomez and four great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister Dolores Sirgany, brother Michael Yunis (Laure), brothers in law William Barimo, Dr. William Yoham, Charles Yoham (Cindy), sisters in law Monica Cummings, Ann Yoham, Donna Hill and Mary Alice Yoham along with many nieces, nephews and adoring lifelong friends.
Shirley was predeceased by her precious daughter, Kathy Yoham Forti, parents John and Marguerite Yunis, sister and brother-in-law Theresa and Camille Gilbert, sister Diane Barimo and Brothers-In-Law Sammie Sirgany, James Yoham, Kenneth Yoham, Jerry Yoham, Skippy Yoham, and Gene Yoham,
Born in Hassroun, Lebanon, Shirley grew up in Detroit, Michigan. The family then moved to Miami in 1953 when Shirley was 16 years old.
She attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic School and received the sacrament of matrimony in 1958 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
With dreams of always having a large family, Shirley and Bobby had seven beautiful children.
Faith was the cornerstone of her family. Shirley, her sisters and their friends created precious memories cooking for Our Lady of Lebanon Annual Church Festival. She was also a member of The American Salam Club of Miami and will be terribly missed.
A rosary will be said Monday, May 15, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church 2055 Coral Way, Miami FL immediately followed by a funeral mass at Noon officiated by Fr. Elie Mikhael and Fr. Manuel Rameh. A burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park,6200 SW 77th Ave, Miami, FL. The family invites all to then join them for A Celebration of Life at Our Lady of Lebanon Banquet Hall.
