MARY AGNES LYNCH's Obituary
Mary Agnes Russell Lynch was born September 11, 1920 in Greensboro, Kentucky and died August 19, 2017 in Miami just weeks shy of her 97th birthday. She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Carman and husband Kenny and Donna Spalding, and one step daughter Suzanne Davis and husband Rick. Five grand children, Brian and wife Anandy, Selena, Karlie and partner Costa, Taylor, and Andrew and Wife Alison. Three great grand daughters Ava, Anna and Lydia. Sisters Tina Rosenbaum, Louisville, Ky and Margaret Pickett, Vine Grove, Ky.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, five brothers, and one step son, Powers Lynch.
Mary received her RN degree from Methodist Deaconess Hospital, Louisville, Ky in 1942. She devoted her career to helping others and worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Louisville after graduation and Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California. She moved to Miami, Florida, in 1953 and worked at Miami Children’s Hospital for 10 years, then to Snapper Creek Nursing Home before retiring from nursing.
She was a very active member of First United Methodist Church of South Miami and was involved in the United Methodist Women and held several offices in the church. Mary was an avid reader, loved making quilts, and participated with the craft groups at church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Tranquility Chapel, Van Orsdel Funeral Home, 11220 No Kendall Drive, Miami, Fl 33176
