MARY S HUSTON's Obituary
Mary Stewart Huston, 84, passed away after short illness at her residence surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Mrs. Huston was born September 12, 1933 in Charlotte, NC. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Ranklin and Lucille Devlin Stewart. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lucille Huston Fogh of Lakeland, and her sister, Catherine Stewart Faison of Charlotte.
Mrs. Huston attended Central High School in Charlotte and graduated from Duke University in 1955. At Duke, she met the love of her life, Tom Huston, Jr., and they were married two weeks after graduation. During her husband’s service in the Air Force, they moved to Miami which she adopted as her home town. Her priorities were always her faith, family and friends. Mrs. Huston was an active member of her community serving as a volunteer for groups including her church, the Junior League of Miami, Beaux Arts and National Society of Colonial Dames of America. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all. She will be missed. Mrs. Huston is survived by her husband of 62 years, Tom Huston, Jr., her daughter, Catherine H. Lorié, sons in law, Rafael T. Lorié and Edward P. Fogh, her five grandchildren- Rafael Thomas, John Paul and Mary Catherine Lorié and Teresa Grier and Christopher Scott Fogh, her nephew, Cameron Faison Jr., and her niece, Mary Faison Blair. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 13 at 11AM at St. Matthews the Apostle Episcopal Church, 7410 Sunset Drive. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request memorial contributions be made to St. Matthews the Apostle Church, 7410 Sunset Drive, Miami, FL 33143 or Chapman Partnership for the Homeless, Attn: Development Office, 1550 N. Miami Avenue, Miami 33136.
